Research resources

Torrens University is committed to supporting its researchers by offering resources and support aimed at fostering aspiration, excellence, integrity and impact. Our strategy for research professional development is in line with the globally recognised VITAE Researcher Development Framework.

The framework comprises four domains, with Domain C focusing on research governance. This refers to the understanding of standards, requirements and the professionalism needed to conduct research effectively.

Within this domain, there are three key categories:

  • C1 Professional conduct: Focuses on health and safety, ethics, sustainability principles, legal requirements, intellectual property (IP) and copyright, respect and confidentiality, and attribution and co-authorship.
  • C2 Research management: Covers research strategy, project planning and delivery, and risk management.
  • C3 Finance, funding and resources: Encompasses income and funding generation, financial management, and managing infrastructure and resources.

To assist in aligning your professional development with these areas, we've created a Yearly Planner. This tool helps you self-assess your development needs against the opportunities we provide. Major activities featured include the University Research Seminar Series, Research and Innovation Week, EPIGEUM modules, Supervisor Community of Practice and Subscriptions.
